Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: Preference for candidates located in the Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton or Calgary areas. This position is fully remote.
Classification: Full Time
AutoCanada is hiring a Legal Counsel to work with leadership and operational teams providing strategic legal guidance.
Position Overview: The Legal Counsel will have 1 to 2 years of experience working at a major law firm and/or large corporation supporting various business units by advising on a wide variety of matters ranging from negotiating commercial contracts, handling litigation and regulatory matters, to advising on a variety of areas of law, including general corporate law, privacy law, consumer protection laws and regulatory compliance affecting the automotive industry.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of relevant post-call experience at a leading law firm and/or large corporation.
- Strong willingness to learn and self-starter.
- Ability to work very independently and collaboratively with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen.
- Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of Alberta, OR the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks in a high-paced environment.
- Litigation experience is considered an asset.
