Position Summary:
The primary job function is to conduct extensive legal research, analyze information, and compose legal opinions and resolutions in support of Company policies and contractual obligations.
Essential Job Functions:- Reviews and evaluates claims and underwriting files in regard to specific legal and coverage issues.
- Education: Requires a law degree and admission to the bar in one of the states where the Company writes insurance policies. California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Virginia.
- Experience: 1-2 years experience in legal research, writing, and analysis. Insurance coverage experience a plus.
- Skills and Abilities: Basic legal research, analytical and writing skills. A background in handling insurance coverage and related issues for insurance companies and their insureds, or other transferable legal skills. Good communication skills.
- Legal analysis regarding coverage and related issues throughout the United States where losses occur.
