The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while providing warm, attentive, and engaging guest service. This role ensures consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency at the coffee station, contributing to the overall guest dining experience.
- Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve all espresso-based and brewed beverages according to standards.
- Create specialty coffees, teas, and signature drinks with consistency and precision.
- Maintain product quality and ensure proper portioning, temperature, and presentation.
- Ensure freshness of beans, milk, syrups, and all beverage ingredients.
- Guest Service
- Greet guests warmly and take orders in a friendly, professional manner.
- Offer recommendations and upsell beverages and pastries as appropriate.
- Respond proactively to guest needs and resolve issues with courtesy and efficiency.
- Maintain a guest-first mindset at all times.
- Operational Tasks
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, blenders, and POS systems confidently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station and service counter.
- Assist in stock rotation, inventory checks, and daily requisitions.
- Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
- Teamwork & Communication
- Coordinate with the F&B team to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors about operational needs.
- Support the outlet during busy periods and assist in other areas when required.
- Health, Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all food safety regulations and cleaning schedules.
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment faults immediately.
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar F&B service role (1–2 years preferred).
- Experience in a hotel, café, or specialty coffee environment is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and barista techniques.
- Ability to operate and maintain professional coffee equipment.
- Basic POS and cash-handling skills.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and passion for quality beverages.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
