Job Details
We are looking for an efficient, courteous cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. The cashier will scan customer selections, ensuring accuracy in prices and quantities, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, provide helpful information on products, promotions, or item location, and handle customer complaints, refunds, or exchanges. Maintaining a clean workspace is also crucial. To succeed as a cashier, you should exhibit a strong work ethic and high accuracy. You should be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to excellent service.
Cashier Responsibilities:
- Welcoming customers, answering their questions, assisting with item location, and providing advice/recommendations.
- Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
- Balancing cash register, generating reports for credit/debit sales.
- Accepting payments, ensuring accurate prices/quantities, and providing receipts.
- Processing refunds/exchanges, resolving complaints.
- Bagging/wrapping purchases for safe transport.
- Adhering to store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, and specific item purchases (e.g., alcohol, cigarettes).
- Maintaining a clean workspace.
Cashier Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service or cashier experience.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- High energy level with strong customer service skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift items, and work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Helpful/courteous approach to resolving complaints.
