Customer Success Manager

Databases are the beating heart of every business.

About the Role

Our Customer Success Managers help onboard customers, leading them to fully utilize CockroachDB's potential.

They will allocate resources, resolve roadblocks and act as trusted advisors.

This role requires a strong understanding of database technology, the overall stack, and infrastructure.

Excellent customer-facing and consultative skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with account team to support customers.
  • Define Customer Success Plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure a successful customer journey through onboarding and adoption.
  • Identify and eliminate technical issues.
  • Liaise with Support for optimized resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services.
  • Understand customer business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Find opportunities to expand subscriptions.
  • Foster ongoing customer relationships, increasing utilization and ARR.
  • Continuously review customer consumption and suggest improvements.

Expectations:

  • First 30 days: Learn CockroachDB and identify suitable use cases.
  • Establish internal relationships across sales, product, and engineering.
  • After 60 days: Learn refactoring opportunities for reusable artifacts.
  • Own artifacts like sizing, best practices, and industry solutions.

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of experience as a CSM, PM, or TAM.
  • 3+ years managing high-value accounts.
  • Experience working with sales teams.
  • Knowledge of databases, distributed systems, and modern enterprise architecture.
  • Proven track record of driving product adoption.

Salary: USD $100,000 to $125,000, plus commission.
