Clever is seeking a Director of Finance to join our team. In this role, you'll manage the entire accounting function and support Clever's new product launches and international growth.
A Day in the Life:
- Assist CFO in leading annual budget, reforecasts, and long-term plans.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Monitor financial performance against objectives and growth plans.
- Communicate financial performance, trends, and risks to leadership.
- Lead headcount planning and budgeting with People Operations.
- Collaborate on compensation, benefits, and perks reviews.
- Develop KPI dashboards to monitor sales performance.
- Partner with Sales & Success to analyze sales trends and complex deals.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Align financial strategy with business objectives.
- Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting for Sales & Success.
Controllership:
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage payroll.
- Manage corporate risk and compliance with GAAP and regulations.
- Implement and improve financial controls and processes.
Compliance:
- Oversee external audits (401K, financial, SOC 2).
- Oversee tax compliance (sales tax, income tax).
- Support HR compliance (401K admin, labor reporting).
People Management:
- Coach and guide junior team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role in SaaS or technology.
- Familiarity with NetSuite and data analytics tools.
- Experience scaling finance operations in a high-growth environment.
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of SaaS business models, subscription revenue, and related dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience at a company with $75M+ annual revenue and international presence.

Preferred Skills:
- Prior SaaS experience, GTM focus
- Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Stripe marketplace sales
- Leading finance in an organization with international operations
Compensation: $172,100 - $202,500 (most locations), $189,300 - $222,800 (NYC and San Francisco).
