Job Details
Director, Sales Training & Enablement is responsible for global training strategy for various sales transformation initiatives driving revenue growth.
Serves as a trusted advisor and partner to Global/Regional Sales Excellence teams, driving learning initiatives focused on selling in a multi-product B2B environment to maximize sales.
Ideal candidate has experience developing/executing sales learning strategy in partnership with sales enablement/excellence functions at a high-growth company.
Builds strong/collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, understands needs, and provides well-defined learning solutions to maximize impact and drive consistent results.
Reports to the Senior Director/Dean of Sales College, Visa University.
With Visa’s strategy/priorities in mind, conducts root cause analysis, assessments, and synthesizes performance data to identify skill/knowledge gaps.
Partners with Visa University (VU), the People Team, and business colleagues to close gaps by creating/deploying solutions leveraging the 3Es of development (Experience, Exposure, Education).
This includes performance improvement, measurement strategies, change initiatives, programmatic recommendations, and curriculum design.
Essential Functions
- Develops learning strategy/implementation plan for priority Sales initiatives (e.g., B2B solution selling, deal structuring, commercial acumen, Sales skill, sales leader effectiveness).
- Manages stakeholder relationships, cultivates respectful relationships across the organization.
- Guides business clients through goal definition, opportunity identification, and solutions using problem-solving principles.
- Serves as a performance consultant/collaborates with global/regional business partners to determine strategic learning needs.
- Understands key business drivers and operational infrastructure.
- Designs, curates, or builds impactful learning solutions.
- Develops learning strategy/implementation plan for business-specific initiatives aligned with business objectives/key KPIs.
- Engages, collaborates, and partners with Visa University colleagues.
- Leverages VU platforms/tools to obtain feedback, deliver training globally, measure learning effectiveness.
- Develops/implements/evaluates programs in partnership with the Data Analytics team.
- Creates network of external content providers/experts for best-in-class solutions.
- Supports planning, budget, and resource forecasting.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years work experience with Bachelor’s or 8+ years with Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA).
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years work experience with Bachelor’s or 8-10 years with Advanced Degree.
- Experience in high-growth B2B organization with a focus on selling complex, multi-product solutions.
- Experience transforming sales culture within a B2B organization.
- 10+ years with progressive experience developing, managing, and implementing learning solutions.
- Learning content design/development skills.
- Strong business acumen/analytical/technical competency.
- Strong interpersonal/communication/consulting/partnering skills.
- Experience building/implementing/fine-tuning sales process/tools training programs.
- Critical thinking/strategic thinking/focus on service excellence.
- Understanding of the payments industry and commercial sales.
Salary
USD 129,200 to 234,200 per year
