We seek a motivated and energetic individual with expertise in business development or client service and a passion for solution-based selling.
Responsibilities include selling environmental analytical services to existing and prospective customers, securing business opportunities to meet revenue targets, applying sales processes, and generating revenue for SGS environmental laboratories.
Daily Tasks:
- Identify business leads with existing and potential customers through ongoing interaction.
- Proactively target and initiate contact with prospective customers to assess potential leads.
- Develop industry contacts and qualify market conditions.
- Conduct discovery sessions with qualified leads to identify needs and potential opportunities for full scope offerings.
- Assess client needs against SGS capabilities.
- Develop a value proposition and demonstrate how SGS services help clients achieve their goals.
- Influence and promote business opportunities through partnerships and coordinated efforts.
- Secure closure on all proposals to new and existing clients, and effectively transfer contracts to the Client Services Team.
- Communicate sales process activities and reports for internal updates.
- Utilize CRM with agreed upon KPIs.
- Provide market intelligence to the Business Development Manager and Operations Manager to support sales materials, plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Represent SGS at tradeshows and seminars to build brand awareness.
- Act as the customer's advocate within the SGS organization to ensure best value.
- Set appropriate customer expectations for SGS products and services.
- Develop personal selling skills, acquire industry knowledge, broaden expertise in environmental services, and apply these skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science)
- 5+ years experience in technical sales, project management, or customer service
- 5+ years experience in the Environmental Industry (Preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for strong customer relationships and internal collaboration
- Strong leadership, self-initiative, resource utilization
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Advanced English language skills
- Advanced reasoning and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
