We seek a motivated and energetic individual with expertise in business development or client service and a passion for solution-based selling.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for selling environmental analytical services to existing and prospective customers, securing business opportunities to meet revenue targets.
Applying the sales process, the successful candidate will generate revenue for SGS environmental laboratories.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying business leads with existing and potential customers.
- Proactively targeting prospective customers.
- Developing a network of industry contacts.
- Conducting discovery sessions to identify client needs and opportunities.
- Assessing client needs against SGS capabilities.
- Developing a value proposition and determining how SGS services can help clients.
- Influencing and expanding business opportunities.
- Securing closure on proposals and handing over contracts.
- Communicating sales process activities and reports.
- Using CRM with agreed-upon KPIs.
- Providing market intelligence to the Business Development and Operations Managers.
- Presenting and representing SGS at tradeshows and seminars.
- Acting as the customer's advocate.
- Setting appropriate customer expectations.
- Continuously developing personal selling skills, acquiring industry knowledge, and broadening expertise in environmental service offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental science).
- 5 years in technical sales, project management, or customer service.
- 5 years’ experience in the Environmental Industry (preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, self-initiative, resource utilization.
- Solid critical thinking skills.
- Advanced English language skills.
- Advanced reasoning and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
