We seek a motivated and energetic individual with expertise in business development or client service, passionate about solution-based selling.
This role is responsible for selling environmental analytical services to existing and prospective customers, securing business opportunities to meet revenue targets. The successful candidate will generate revenue for SGS environmental labs, applying the sales process.
A Day in the Life of an SGS Senior Account Manager:
The Senior Account Manager sells environmental analytical services to existing and prospective customers, securing business to meet targets. The Senior Account Manager manages client portfolios and builds long-term relationships. The role liaises between customers, Client Services, and lab operations to fulfill customer needs.
- Identifies business leads through interactions within the Environmental community.
- Proactively targets and initiates contact with prospective customers.
- Develops an industry network, qualifying market conditions.
- Conducts discovery sessions with qualified leads to understand client needs, opportunities for services.
- Assesses client needs against SGS capabilities.
- Develops a value proposition, explaining how SGS services help clients.
- Influences and promotes business expansion through partnerships and coordinated efforts with other SGS business lines.
- Secures closure on proposals, handing contracts to the Client Services Team.
- Communicates sales activities, reporting internally using CRM with agreed KPIs.
- Provides market intelligence to the Business Development and Operations Managers to enhance sales materials, plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Presents and represents SGS at tradeshows and technical seminars.
- Acts as customer advocate within SGS to maximize value.
- Sets appropriate customer expectations for SGS products and services.
- Maintains professional and ethical representation of SGS.
- Continuously develops personal skills, industry knowledge, and expertise in environmental services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science)
- 5+ years technical sales, project management, or customer service experience.
- 5+ years environmental industry experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership, initiative, and resource utilization
- Solid critical thinking skills
- Advanced English language skills
- Advanced reasoning and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
