Full-Time Executive Director, Legal

Reporting to Head of Legal, this role provides legal advice supporting MUFG Investor Services' growing global business.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advisory, regulatory, and documentation support to core business functions (fund administration, registrar, investor AML, banking, custody, trustee, regulatory reporting, registered office, and corporate secretary).
• Provide legal advice and documentation support, managing timelines, reviewing/drafting documents, negotiating agreements, liaising with stakeholders, seeking sign-offs, and executing/providing legal opinions.
• Handle documentation, including service agreements (administration, middle office, BPO, FATCA, regulatory reporting, declarations of trust, bank mandates, terms & conditions, NDAs), intragroup/outsourcing agreements, and vendor agreements.
• Respond to legal queries from various departments (operational, internal control, client integration, senior management, entity boards).
• Advise the business on legal and regulatory matters across key jurisdictions.
• Manage/coordinate with external legal counsel, advising senior management and supporting all functions.
• Support or manage projects and new business initiatives.
• Coordinate precedent maintenance and creation.
• Provide advice to, and/or represent legal on, internal committees.

Qualifications:

• Qualified lawyer with 7-10 years’ post-qualification experience.
• Valid practicing certificate in England & Wales or New York.
• Experience in in-house legal roles (ideally in a bank, fund manager, or fund service provider).
