Full-Time Labor & Employment Counsel

Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is seeking a full-time in-house HR Labor & Employment Compliance Counsel.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and Implementing Policies: Ensuring regulatory HR compliance policies, practices, and procedures are monitored, implemented, and certified. Drafts, implements, and manages legal and compliance policies.
• Conducting Internal Audits: Regularly performing internal audits and spot checks to ensure compliance procedures are followed.
• Providing Compliance Advice: Providing legal advice and counseling on a broad range of legal issues.
• Recommending Policies and Strategies: Recommending corporate policies and strategies that promote the company’s goals while complying with regulations.
• Keeping Informed: Keeping informed of relevant legal developments and assessing their impact on organizational processes.
• Labor and Employment Legal Support: Collaborate with HR on employment law issues and handle employment litigation matters and claims. Works with HR to enhance practices to minimize employment law risk.
• Developing Training and Education Plans: Train and educate HR, employees, and various functions on legal, compliance issues, and policies.
• Contract Review: Review, edit, interpret, and advise on various types of contracts.

Core Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from a nationally recognized law school
• Licensed to practice law and active bar membership in good standing
• 4+ years of general labor and employment litigation experience, preferably with some in-house experience
