The Regulatory Counsel will join the global legal team with a focus on the regulatory space in APAC, Europe, and the Middle East.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally to identify, analyse, and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide proactive, solution-oriented legal advice and guidance.
- Represent the Group on a variety of topics before regulators, financial partners, users, and other external audiences.
- Handle litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Review, update, and draft user agreements.
- Work with Risk and Compliance teams to assess applicable regulations and establish corresponding company standards.
- Review and advise on the development of external-facing marketing material, user content, and user experiences.
- Select and manage external counsel, as appropriate, for litigation and other legal matters
Knowledge:
- Interest in cryptocurrencies.
- Expertise in the payments industry and experience within consumer-facing sectors are advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial services regulations.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and dispute resolution strategies
Requirements:
- Around 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling litigation cases in an international or cross-border environment.
- Ability to provide timely, concise, and business-focused legal advice.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
- Confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Prior product-related legal experience in technology or financial services is required.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Chinese-language word processing.
