About Forma
The market for employee benefits is broken. Companies spend millions annually on employee benefits that employees neither value nor regularly use. Founded in 2017, Forma set out to build a better model by challenging traditional one-size-fits-all approaches.Forma’s flexible benefits software helps companies offer competitive benefits packages while reducing costs and inefficiencies, by giving employees more choice and flexibility in how they spend their benefit allowances. The platform also saves HR professionals countless hours managing and supporting various point solutions.
Using Forma, companies can select from a suite of products that include Lifestyle Spending Accounts, Health Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements, Flexible Spending Accounts, and more to design and deliver customized benefits programs–all through a single platform. Employees then have three choices to spend account funds: The Forma Store with discounted products and services, The Forma Visa Card, or claim reimbursement backed by Forma’s world-class member support team.
Forma has helped hundreds of the world’s most admired companies, including Stripe, Zoom, Lululemon, and Affirm, design and support flexible, inclusive benefits programs for nearly a million employees. And, we are seeing great success with 75 NPS, and 98 CSAT ratings from members.
Forma is backed by Emergence Capital and Ribbit Capital and has received numerous awards for its exponential growth, its software innovation, and as a “Great Place to Work.”
About the Role
This will be Forma’s first in-house counsel. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work at a high growth company and all of the fun that comes along with it – one day might be drafting a service agreement with a Fortune 100 customer, and the next day negotiating a vendor contract and employment agreement. If you enjoy solving complex problems, thrive in a team environment, and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves, we’d love to talk. This person will report to the VP of Finance and work closely with sales, customer success, and product leaders.
You Will
• Draft, review, negotiate, and close commercial agreements including service agreements, purchase orders, partnership agreements, SLAs, DPAs, security agreements and NDAs with customers and vendors
• Offer legal advice and support on matters related to employment, intellectual property, and risk mitigation
• Work cross-functionally with finance, sales, product, and other departments to understand business needs and provide legal support that aligns with company objectives
• Engage and manage outside counsel when necessary
Preferred Skills
• JD from an accredited US college or university; active membership in a state bar
• 4+ years of experience developing and negotiating SaaS agreements and/or technology transactions
• Experience operating in a fast-paced environment and navigating ambiguity
• Excellent analytical and communication skills that enable you to effectively support cross-functional teams, as well as external customers and partners.
• Superior judgment and integrity, intellectual curiosity, innovative thinking, and ability to provide practical and solution-oriented advice
• Experience working with, managing, and maintaining a CLM (contract lifecycle management)tool, such as Docusign CLM, Ironclad, Evisort, etc.
• Prior experience with financial and money movement regulations is a plus
