About Ledger Investing: Ledger is a Y Combinator-backed Insurtech startup transforming insurance risk financing. We build a marketplace for re/insurers to transfer risk to capital markets investors, having originated over $2 billion of premium volume.
About the Team: Ledger operates at the intersection of finance, insurance, and technology. We're executing the go-to-market strategy for casualty insurance-linked securities (ILS).
About the role: We seek a driven, senior-level professional with a background in reinsurance deal origination, investment banking, strategic advisory, or consulting in re/insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads business development with insurance/reinsurance companies.
- Works with Actuarial and Capital Markets teams to oversee transactions from pitch to execution, including modeling and presentations.
- Participates in marketing, due diligence, and term negotiations.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in reinsurance broking, P&C ILS origination, or investment banking/strategic advisory in insurance/reinsurance.
- Extensive network with insurance/reinsurance executives.
- In-depth knowledge of P&C insurance and reinsurance, casualty risks, and/or ILS/structured finance.
- Understanding of re/insurance company capital models.
- Proven ability to sell capital-efficient products to C-suite executives.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus.
