Job Details
Payroll Leader manages and supports payroll for the Americas region (5 countries, >2,100 employees). Leads the Americas payroll team to execute accurate, timely, and compliant payrolls.
Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll for 5 countries (US, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico).
- Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Support implementations, divestitures, and acquisitions.
- Ensure tax and regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile tax liabilities and withholding taxes.
- Review, coordinate, and implement new processes and systems aligned with global payroll initiatives.
- Administer payroll policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR, Stock Plan Administration, Benefits to maintain compliance.
- Train, lead, and support a team of Payroll Specialists.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all supported countries.
- Own the entire Americas payroll process (time & attendance) ensuring accurate and timely processing, delivery, and reconciliation.
- Process multi-country global payroll (exempt/non-exempt) including new hires, terminations, stock income, fringe benefits, bonuses.
- Oversee and ensure payroll tax & regulatory reporting compliance, including year-end reporting.
- Perform necessary approvals and controls.
- Partner with Internal Audit to ensure SOX and audit procedures are met.
- Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Enhance payroll systems and procedures based on changes in local tax laws, company programs, and policies.
- Support employees on international assignments regarding taxes.
- Identify and mitigate operational & regulatory risks.
- Improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Stay updated with payroll and tax legislation.
- Provide high-value customer service to employees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years’ relevant payroll experience managing people and overseeing large, multi-country payroll operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, process mapping, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership experience in building teams and fostering collaboration with cross-functional departments.
- Experience developing and leading a payroll function focused on process, controls, and compliance.
- Experience in developing and enhancing internal processes and controls.
- Expert knowledge of US tax regulations and reporting.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems (Workday HCM, Workday Payroll, Ceridian Dayforce, ADP Celergo, ADP Global View, etc.).
- Familiarity with complex HRIS system workflows.
