Principal Consultant is a functional and technical expert consulting with customers on implementing ServiceNow’s Financial Services Operations (FSO) solutions based on best practices for Banking and Insurance.
Role Focus: Accelerating and driving customer business outcomes by solving relevant challenges, providing support during sales cycles, engaging directly with customers and partners, and advocating for customer needs within ServiceNow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery:
- Primary technical point-of-contact for projects.
- Ensuring quality of work, escalating client concerns, and identifying process efficiencies for the technical team and clients.
- Defining technical solutions aligned with client needs and ServiceNow best practices.
- Translating customer requirements into high-quality technical solutions and communicating/delivering them to clients.
- Estimating stories, monitoring developer work, and owning overall quality and delivery.
- Leading technical onboarding efforts with new clients.
- Delivering purchased development artifacts, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborating with the engagement manager to monitor scope and resolve technical issues.
- Mentoring developers and technical consultants on design standards and best practices.
- Researching technology partner/vendor solutions for integration.
- Pre-Sales:
- Maintaining knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products.
- Assisting the pre-sales team with scoping engagements involving multiple products and complex integrations.
- Evangelizing ServiceNow Expert Services by contributing to whitepapers, webinars, and community groups.
- Product:
- Engaging and collaborating with ServiceNow product teams on new product offerings and go-to-market activities.
- Interface with product team during implementations to gain best practices and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Experience leveraging AI in work processes.
- 8+ years of consultation/configuration experience implementing configurable technologies (ServiceNow, Salesforce, Pega).
- Experience in financial services consulting, digital transformation, or software implementation.
- Familiarity with industry-leading platforms.
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise architectures and technical roadmaps with integrations.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, system architecture, security, use cases, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and provide thought leadership.
- Understanding of data classifications and security requests.
- Experience with implementation design artifacts, solution presentations, and customer acceptance.
- Strong communication and presentation skills using visualizations and modeling.
- Passion for studying new technologies.
Certifications:
- ServiceNow certifications are required (specific certifications and timelines noted).
