Job Details
Experian is seeking an experienced attorney with several years of experience working with complex agreements for clients. The role involves negotiating contracts directly with Experian's business clients, focusing on employer services (verifications, unemployment claims, tax credits/incentives). Agreements may include professional services agreements, RFPs, RFQs, NDAs, evaluation agreements, standard terms and conditions, remediation amendments, service level agreements, and master services agreements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Negotiating creative solutions for Experian and clients, ensuring compliance.
- Coordinating with legal, compliance, finance, sales, and product teams.
- Enforcing contracting policies and managing non-standard terms/pricing approvals.
- Assisting sales teams with contract administration and advising management on risks.
- Providing training to sales and other departments on contract issues/negotiation strategies.
- Facilitating deal execution while minimizing risk to Experian.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; bar admission.
- 4+ years of experience (ideally in-house or contracts department).
- Comfort working in a large, sales-driven environment.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, including leading client negotiations.
- Direct experience negotiating key contract terms: Liability, Indemnification, Warranties, Termination, Data Security.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition and accounting rules for software/custom development projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, DocuSign, and Adobe.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Salesforce, Salesforce reporting, document approvals/deviations in Salesforce. Familiarity with state/federal privacy laws (FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
