Senior Legal Counsel (Product, Technology and Global Operations)
As Senior Legal Counsel, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, you will build a world-class legal and regulatory infrastructure for sustainable business performance.
You will be the day-to-day point of contact for Xplor's Product, Technology, and Global Operations teams, providing legal advice on risks and products/technology/operations.
Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulations (customer data and payments), liaising with stakeholders and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of the legal function at Xplor.
- Serving as an integral member of Xplor's Legal & Governance team, liaising with other departments.
- Providing pragmatic, legally sound guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintaining relationships with external counsel and advisors.
- Providing legal support globally for all business areas, including Product, Technology, and Global Operations.
- Supporting material projects, including new product initiatives, product development, customer migrations, technology infrastructure changes, and global operations changes.
- Taking responsibility for substantive legal issues (commercial, payments, privacy, intellectual property, regulatory, and consumer law).
- Operationalizing processes based on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and responding to statutory, regulatory, and policy changes, maintaining Xplor's Horizon Scanning Register.
- Reinforcing a culture of compliance with policies, rules, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Law qualification from a reputable institution.
- Admitted as a solicitor/lawyer in a jurisdiction relevant to Xplor.
- Demonstrable legal negotiation and drafting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
- Broad legal experience (commercial, privacy/data protection, intellectual property, regulatory, and consumer law).
- Preferable product-focused experience, especially in SaaS and payments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
