Seeking a motivated and ambitious attorney with 8+ years of proven technology law experience to join our dynamic legal team.
Location: US (flexible or remote)
Reporting to: Global Head of Privacy and Digital Technology
Role: Key part of the Global Legal Team supporting ServiceNow’s Digital Technology organization (DT).
Responsibilities:
- Advise on global data protection and privacy issues, regulatory requirements, and data risk assessments.
- Advise on legal issues related to data transfers, sharing, usage, analytics, and metrics.
- Advise on AI matters (internal governance, risk assessments, regulatory review).
- Provide product counseling and advise on IP, software, licensing, and other product-related legal matters.
- Advise on vendor engagements, third-party integrations, and vendor risk assessments.
- Project management and process improvement for legal support to DT.
- Assist in creating/maintaining/reviewing contracts, notices, policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Support DT on Governance, Risk, and Compliance program.
- Support training initiatives for various groups within DT.
- Act as a strategic business partner to DT, supporting its goals.
- Partner with other Legal teams on legal issues impacting DT.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree, strong academic credentials, and membership in at least one State bar
- 8+ years of relevant technology law experience (law firm and/or in-house)
- Experience with privacy, data protection, and technology matters, including privacy risk assessments and key global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, US state laws)
- Experience in product counseling, IP, licensing, and technology transactions
- Knowledge of AI-related legal and governance requirements, and understanding of key AI laws
- Proficiency in commercial contracts and excellent drafting/negotiation skills
- Practical, collaborative problem-solving skills, decision-making, and risk assessment
- Excellent communication skills to foster relationships and collaborate
