This is an entry-level full-time sales position for Stratas Foods, Foodservice.
Primary Role: Direct sales development support calling on foodservice operators and bakeries, working with brokers (where applicable), reporting to a Division Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operator Fry oil testing and product cuttings.
- National Brands and mayo, dressings, sauces specialist, aiding broker and distributor sales teams.
- Regional and National Account field support (as needed).
- Identifying operator targets to sell products.
- Setting up and monitoring operator Fry tests and product samplings.
- Achieving assigned goals and objectives through direct selling support.
- Building strong relationships with distributor sales reps, becoming their Stratas National Brands leader in oils.
- Daily focus on operator sales calls and support; participating in sales meetings, food shows, etc.
- Leading key operator sales growth through lead follow-up and fry test management; providing product solutions, market intelligence and technical expertise.
- Handling a variety of tasks including Fry test process management, salad dressing/sauces/mayo cuttings, and bakery shortenings.
- Learning effective selling techniques, product knowledge, and skill enhancements (presentations, organization, promotional tools).
- Supporting the "One Foodservice" strategy, funneling commodity opportunities to distributors.
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com for opportunity and customer relationship management.
- Performing administrative duties such as expense reports, contract management, and email responses.
Travel: Up to 50% within assigned territory.
Competencies:
- Essential: Effective presentation skills, ability to learn and train, understanding of business dynamics, balancing cost vs. value.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Culinary, Food Marketing or a related business field.
- 5-7 years of foodservice experience in an outside sales role (or equivalent).
- Distributor, broker or manufacturer sales experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements: Ability to fly/drive, respond orally and in writing to customer inquiries.
Mental/Reasoning: Ability to handle diverse tasks effectively, send correspondence.
