We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Business Development Proposals to lead a team in pursuing growth opportunities within the workforce services sector and related markets.
This pivotal role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead growth strategy for the market, focusing on customer retention and new market/customer expansion.
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and internal capabilities to shape strategy.
- Lead exploration and initiation of new business models and revenue streams.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, guiding efforts for market entry.
- Cultivate relationships with industry customers.
- Represent the company at industry events.
- Oversee bid management process to improve success rates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling bids.
- Ensure proposals comply with client requirements.
- Review and validate commercial models.
- Lead and coordinate team efforts to produce high-quality proposals.
- Assign resources effectively to meet deadlines.
- Act as an escalation point for decisions, issues, and risks.
- Participate in proposal reviews and ensure strategic cohesion.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to support business growth strategies.
- Encourage a culture of collaboration and best practices.
- Identify training needs for the business development team.
- Provide regular reports to senior and executive management.
- Use data analytics to inform decision-making and track effectiveness.
- Ensure completed proposals contain all necessary information.
- Foster innovation and align project work with company mission and values.
- Develop team skills and participate in department leadership discussions.
- Travel to Louisville office as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven leader with over 10 years of experience leading and winning large, complex bids.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and priorities.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong commercial acumen and operational service delivery knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels.
