The Breakdown Coordinator (2nd Shift) will receive inbound phone calls and coordinate scheduled/unscheduled maintenance issues between drivers, vendors, and stakeholders. Deliver outstanding customer service to drivers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced remote environment, offering after-hours support to drivers.
- Execute vendor management program, negotiate pricing for tires, parts, and services.
- Create repair orders within Dossier.
- Collaborate with maintenance department on strategic planning, organizing, and execution.
- Communicate breakdowns, accidents, and incidents to relevant personnel (coordinators, Operations, Safety, Risk Management).
- Receive and address incoming calls via pre-defined call queues.
- Interact with digital communications from in-cab devices.
- Review and address email messages.
- Access OEM websites to review action codes and resolve issues.
- Maintain communication with vendors, drivers, and operational stakeholders regarding repair decisions.
- Ensure DOT/FMCSA regulations are followed.
- Obtain and review repair estimates, scrutinize the repair process, and authorize approved repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in related field (preferred)
- Previous call center, service writer, or mechanical experience (preferred)
- Transportation industry experience (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer service and team-oriented skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- OEM maintenance certifications
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5pm-2am CST
Equipment: Laptop, monitor, softphone software, internet reimbursement.
Compensation: Hourly, no guarantees for career progression
