Remote role in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provinces.
The Business Development Manager will create and execute plans for business growth, expanding market presence, and identifying new revenue streams. This involves building strong relationships with customers and partners within the golf industry, driving long-term sustainability and revenue.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Relationship building and management to acquire and develop existing customers, increasing revenue through product adoption and upselling.
- Understanding market requirements, competitive landscape, and sales philosophy and products.
- Developing a go-to-market strategy leveraging data to drive client and business success.
- Gaining advanced product knowledge and competitive awareness for presentations and negotiations.
- Building a strong industry network to identify potential customers.
- Collaborating with internal teams (customer support, marketing, product) for customer success.
- Contributing to strategic sales initiatives.
- Meeting and exceeding individual and department goals, exhibiting accountability, proactivity, and strong work ethic.
- Utilizing Salesforce for customer activity tracking, sales order creation, market data analysis, and go-to-market strategy execution.
- Representing the company at exhibitions, conferences, and events.
- Engaging with international colleagues to support a positive company culture.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of sales/account management experience in a SaaS environment, promoting web/cloud/mobile products in relevant industries (e.g., Sports/Leisure/Hospitality).
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
- Valid South African driver's license and own vehicle.
- Consultative selling approach.
- Proven track record of successful business development and customer acquisition.
- Understanding of golf, practices, and the golfing environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (virtual and face-to-face).
- Results-oriented mindset and proven ability to achieve targets.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach, working effectively with multiple teams.
- Data analysis and presentation skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness and ability to travel between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary degree (Business, Sales, Marketing, IT).
- Experience working in the golf industry or with golf-related technology.
- Network with golf professionals, clubs, industry bodies, or sports organizations.
- Experience launching new products.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans.
- In-depth knowledge of the Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal markets.
- Strong technical understanding and comfort with web-based cloud applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
