We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1 - Continental to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India.
As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality Continental cuisine, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Continental dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely food service.
- Support senior chefs in menu planning and implementation of new dishes.
- Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain quality.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Participate in regular inventory checks and stock management.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and maintain professional relationships with all staff members.
- Continuously improve culinary skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent culinary education
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and culinary techniques
- Food safety and hygiene certifications (e.g., HACCP)
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
