Full-Time Consumer Hotline Producer

General Responsibilities:

• Research and help develop consumer stories for local TV news.
• Investigate viewer complaints and facilitate dispute resolutions.
• Assist reporters and producers in gathering information.
• Assess and prioritize news tips and viewer cases.
• Track and report consumer trends.
• Work with Public Information Officers and Media Relations.
• Research and update government/NGO resources for viewers.
• Respond to every viewer complaint.
• Maintain communication with reporters, news directors, and producers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research skills.
• Excellent phone and communication skills.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the US.
• Willing to work in the DFW area.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Desired:

• 4-year college degree (journalism preferred).
• Experience in a related field.
• Experience working in a local TV newsroom.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task.
