Field Service Technician II - Supports on-call work and requires travel, primarily located in Presidio, TX, and backup support for Del Rio, TX, El Paso, TX, and Eagle Pass, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, services, installs, and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment.
- Maintains field service logs and filing systems.
- Demonstrates initiative and dedication to exceed customer and company requirements.
- Conducts follow-up calls with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Meets daily service needs and drives customer satisfaction.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment; provides customer training.
- Responds to emergency and non-scheduled calls within response time goals.
- Completes scheduled maintenance within deadlines.
- Documents inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
- Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair part cycle time.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
- Maintains technical certifications.
- Reviews logs for open issues and prepares formal reports.
- Participates in service sales opportunities and revenue programs.
- Seeks knowledge from senior FSTs.
- Ensures tools and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
- Assesses product/equipment performance and recommends modifications.
- Provides technical support to customers.
- May participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, and special projects; prepares reports.
- Possesses technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Maintains clear communication.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with senior FSTs and Product Managers.
- Minimizes costs while maximizing revenue.
- Submits expenses, time cards, and other administrative tasks on time.
- Complies with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Complies with export control and security regulations.
- Other duties as required
Education/Training:
- Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical) / Military Training.
- Equivalence through 3+ years of experience in related field service.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer focus skills.
- Teamwork orientation.
- Responsiveness to customer issues.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
Background:
- Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA.
- Must successfully pass a federal background investigation.
- U.S. Personal Security Clearance may be required.
