The Screening Team is dedicated to developing and commercializing early cancer detection products at Guardant Health.
The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives in a designated region.
Responsibilities include:
- Prospecting and targeting early adopters to promote SHIELD to general practice providers.
- Partnering with national/regional/local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Building relationships with key thought leaders.
- Managing 8-12 direct reports, including recruitment, coaching, and development.
- Meeting sales targets and providing regular progress reports.
- Forecasting and achieving quarterly/annual sales goals.
- Ensuring effective use of sales processes and product materials.
- Managing open territories and recruiting new personnel.
- Developing a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collecting customer insights and communicating market trends to leadership.
- Collaborating with Key Account Managers and the commercial team.
- Demonstrating company values and maintaining confidentiality.
- Leveraging company resources to meet customer expectations.
- Leading regional/national projects and participating in cross-functional headquarters projects.
- Ensuring sales force compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and company policies.
- Meeting customer access requirements; Field-based role requiring ~75% travel in assigned area and some travel outside of assigned area for regional/national meetings.
Qualifications include:
- 7+ years of customer-facing sales experience in medical/diagnostic/med device.
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Demonstrated revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company.
- Experience leading sales teams promoting products to primary care providers.
- Experience in a sales leadership role during a product launch.
- Excellent influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Demonstrated coaching and education skills.
- Reach/frequency, high decile healthcare provider targeting, and production/coverage experience.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of the market, customers, distribution, and products.
- Strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and Salesforce.com.
- Education: BS in life sciences, biology, business, or marketing is preferred.
Compensation: $175,000 - $190,000 base salary (does not include benefits, bonus, commission, or equity).
