The Screening Team is a dedicated organization focused on the development and commercialization of early cancer detection products. Their singular focus allows for speed and urgency in achieving goals and serving individuals who can benefit from early detection.
About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region. The RSD promotes SHIELD to general practice providers and their practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and target to identify early adopter list and generate SHIELD adoption.
- Identify and partner with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Initiate and secure lab service draw agreements, establishing strong partnerships.
- Proactively build relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports, recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing the sales force.
- Demonstrate effective leadership, drive team performance through coaching and motivation, providing clear expectations, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Manage regional sales targets and report progress.
- Forecast and achieve quarterly/annual sales goals.
- Ensure effective use of sales process and product materials.
- Model and share best practices nationally.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for the region (budget, travel, territory management, goal setting).
- Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Leverage product/technical expertise to effectively present technology and clinical benefits to customers.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and commercial team members.
- Establish communication and operating mechanisms for information sharing and collaboration.
- Demonstrate company values (integrity, respect, trust, positive attitude).
- Leverage Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives and company resources for technical, clinical and business content.
- Lead/engage in regional and national projects. May serve as backup to National Sales Director.
- Mentor individuals within/outside the commercial organization.
- Ensure sales force compliance with quality, regulatory and company policies.
- Meet customer access requirements.
- Travel approximately 75% of working time within the assigned area and some travel for regional/national meetings.
Requirements:
- 7+ years experience in customer-facing sales (medical, diagnostic, or med device).
- 3+ years experience in sales leadership/management.
- Proven measurable revenue generation at diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology companies.
- Proven experience leading sales teams promoting products to primary care providers.
- Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Experience coaching and educating others.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, reporting and tracking skills.
- Impeccable communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to maintain market, customer, distribution and product knowledge.
- Outstanding strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships.
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and Salesforce.
Education: B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing is ideal.
Compensation: $175,000 - $190,000 (US) + benefits.
Additional notes: Travel, office environment with potential exposure to noise, fumes, biohazards (in labs), extended sitting.
