This position will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation’s project management capabilities and contribute to its overall success.
Responsibilities:
- Review and improve Hume's Project Management Framework (PMF), ensuring alignment with strategic goals and community priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop guides, templates, and processes supporting various project methodologies and stages.
- Provide coaching and support to staff, oversee change management strategies and manage project software for transparent reporting.
- Oversee Council’s capital and project portfolio, ensuring alignment with Council’s strategic priorities, community needs, and resources.
- Monitor the delivery and performance of portfolio and project delivery, assessing initiative status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Develop and monitor Council’s 10-year and annual Capital program in consultation with internal stakeholders, supporting broader organisational and financial plans.
- Facilitate and contribute to an aligned, high-performing, and effective team by leading, coaching, mentoring team members, setting direction, providing context, and establishing clearly defined role expectations and performance monitoring.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in project management within a complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks.
- Ability to coach and mentor staff at all levels.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Change management expertise, including strategy development and implementation.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Outstanding communication to facilitate effective and engaging relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, Project Management Professional certification, or equivalent engineering qualification.
