Sales Director – Adult Beverage Team will penetrate CPG/AB Brand, Marketing & Shopper teams to drive investment in Vestcom Media Solutions (VMS) products and services.
Results-oriented sales executive with a proven track record of profitable top-line revenue growth through consultative selling into large, complex retailers, CPG/AB’s and media agencies. Requires 10+ years of recent experience in the CPG/AB industry.
Must be able to engage both brand clients and C-suite executives. Comfortable selling at all levels.
Expertise in Adult Beverage organizational dynamics, knowledge of Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations strategies, and established network of CPG/AB contacts deploying media spend is essential.
Requires strategic vision, creativity, initiative, analytical skills, and the ability to sell and negotiate a differentiated in-store media solution.
Success demands innovative business strategies to close key opportunities and drive revenue growth & client expansion.
May manage Account Managers supporting VMS campaigns.
- Lead sales strategy & planning across the team
- Develop high-level customer relationships with senior leadership
- Call on functional groups (Brand, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing) to secure support for VMS
- Call on local CPG/AB Shopper Teams to secure media spend
- Deliver Vestcom shelf-edge value proposition and influence clients
- Understand retailer & CPG/AB measurement criteria (top-line and bottom-line)
- Apply creative problem-solving, and possess exceptional listening skills
- Carry individual quota exceeding $4MM
- Develop presentations & proposals that position VMS as a winning media value proposition
- Manage sales pipeline and achieve consistent close rates
- Provide sales forecasting utilizing CRM tool
- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership
- Understand market dynamics and execute next-gen solutions (digital)
- Represent VMS at tradeshows & events
- Work cross-functionally with Vestcom teams
Supervisory Responsibilities: Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years' sales experience in Retail/CPG/AB; experience working for a leading CPG/AB or marketing services solution provider required. Knowledge of Brand, Retail, Shopper Marketing and Media landscape. Must have a proven track record of achieving top-line and bottom-line revenue targets. Experience in consultative data-driven selling and developing sales strategy. Exceptional negotiation, conflict management, account management, and strategic selling skills.
Additional Requirements: Full-time role; may work from home, travel to Vestcom offices and client locations (up to 25% travel); adherence to Company policies and safety procedures.
