Business Development Director is responsible for driving company growth by partnering with RRD Sales, identifying new business, leveraging strategic partnerships, and enhancing market presence.
Requires strong understanding of business, financials, RRD products/services, and client challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead others in solving complex problems; using analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.
- Anticipate and understand customer needs, feedback, and objections, and explain solutions.
- Persuade customers using judgment, discretion, and creativity.
- Develop colleagues' and customers' understanding of services.
- Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Explore and evaluate new business opportunities (clients, partnerships, markets).
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (clients, partners, industry leaders).
- Act as primary contact for strategic partners.
- Oversee proposal and presentation preparation for clients and partners; ensure alignment with company strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, product development for business goals and messaging.
- Collaborate with senior management to prioritize business development initiatives.
- Contribute to sales team negotiations with large/important/regional accounts.
Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of sales experience (prospecting new business and maintaining account relationships).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Depth/breadth of sales expertise (product, service, or account type).
- MS Office proficiency.
- Demonstrated sales account management and profitable growth experience.
