Business Development Specialist - Cybersecurity Events (US, Remote)
Join our top-performing sales team and identify new prospects, handle inside sales, and provide customer service for Black Hat and related cybersecurity events, media products, and services. Prospect for new business via email and phone to sell exhibit space, sponsorships, and digital media programs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage incoming lead processing and assignment.
- Meet daily/weekly sales targets (calls/reports), selling new business and providing customer service.
- Outbound calls/emails to prospects, communicating industry issues, trends, and opportunities.
- Focus on new business sales of exhibit space, sponsorships, digital media, and lead generation programs.
- Collaborate with sales management to achieve team goals.
- Assist customers with online contract applications and enter sales orders into Salesforce.com.
- Maintain Salesforce.com customer database and call reports, ensuring accuracy.
- Manage sales pipeline opportunity stages for accurate forecasting.
- Analyze the cybersecurity market to enhance understanding of market share.
Required Skills and Experience
- College degree in marketing or sales, with 1+ year experience in sales administration, support, or direct sales.
- Strong interpersonal/organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce.com, and other software.
- Strong phone sales and prospecting skills.
- Excellent relationship-building abilities.
- Proven ability to set conference calls and appointments.
- Consultative sales approach and achievement-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- 1-2 years of selling experience (experience selling marketing services is a plus).
Other Key Attributes
- Ability to sell business solutions in the cybersecurity marketplace.
- Experience in a B2B media environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of trade show sales strategies.
- Ability to understand customer expectations, needs, and wants.
- Skilled in anticipating market/industry opportunities and threats.
Compensation
Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 + commission.
