Job Details

The Mission: The Director of Business Development (pharmaceutical and medical device clients) is to meet quarterly and annual sales targets by bringing in new business and growing existing accounts from a defined target base.

Responsibilities:

  • Support maintenance of existing business by managing contracts and up-sell/cross-sell opportunities; onsite client visits; actively network for new business/prospects.
  • Present capabilities to new clients; organize client and internal kick-off calls; develop insightful proposals; deliver strategic sales communications; and consult with clients on sample design.
  • Promote new business development initiatives through cold calling and networking at industry events; seek out and source new clients by developing networks and identifying resources.
  • Provide superior customer service by working with Project Managers and Research Managers; manage bid requests.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure top-level client experience; meet personal KPIs; and achieve personal financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3+ years of market research professional experience preferred
  • 3+ years of proven business development experience with pharmaceutical and medical device clients
  • Experience in direct sales above $2.5 MM individual goal (yearly)
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and prioritize requests
  • Established new business development and relationship-building skills
  • Effective communicator (comfortable on the phone)
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, self-discipline, and organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Familiarity with CRM software and KPIs
  • Proficient in Excel
