The Screening Team is a dedicated organization focused on early cancer detection product development and commercialization.
The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region.
Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and targeting to identify early adopter regions for SHIELD and generate adoption.
- Partnering with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Initiating and securing lab service draw agreements and managing relationships.
- Building relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers.
- Managing 8-12 direct reports, including recruitment, selection, coaching, and development.
- Managing sales targets and reporting progress.
- Forecasting and achieving quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Ensuring effective use of sales process and marketing materials.
- Managing open territories and recruiting for vacancies.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collecting customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Presenting product and technical expertise to customers.
- Collaborating with Key Account Managers and the commercial team.
- Ensuring appropriate communication and collaboration.
- Modeling Guardant Health's values.
- Leveraging resources (Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives) to meet customer needs.
- Leading and participating in regional and national projects.
- Mentoring individuals within or outside the commercial organization.
- Ensuring sales force compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Company policies.
- Meeting customer access requirements.
- Traveling approximately 75% of the time within the assigned area, and sometimes outside for meetings.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of direct customer-facing sales experience in medical, diagnostic, or medical device.
- 3+ years of sales leadership/management experience.
- Demonstrated revenue generation in a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company.
- Proven experience leading sales teams promoting products to primary care providers.
- Experience in a sales leadership role during a product launch.
- Strong influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Excellent coaching, education, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience with reporting and tracking sales metrics.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of market, customer, distribution, and product.
- Excellent strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Excellent confidentiality and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and Salesforce.com.
- Bachelor's degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing (preferred).
Compensation:
US base salary range is $175,000 to $190,000.
