About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region. The RSD promotes SHIELD to general practice providers and their practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and target early adopter list, generating SHIELD adoption.
- Identify and partner with labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Build relationships with key thought leaders in assigned region.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports, recruiting, coaching, and developing them.
- Drive effective team performance through coaching, motivation, and clear expectations.
- Manage sales targets and reporting to management.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Ensure sales force utilizes approved product marketing/promotion materials.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Present and discuss technology/clinical benefits effectively.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and commercial team members.
- Establish and maintain communication/collaboration mechanisms.
- Demonstrate company values (integrity, respect, trust, positive attitude).
- Leverage Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives, and other resources.
- Lead and participate in regional/national projects.
- Support the National Sales Director(s) as needed.
- Mentor individuals within or outside the commercial organization.
- Ensure sales force compliance.
- Meet customer access requirements.
- Travel approximately 75% of working time in assigned area, and some travel outside for meetings.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of customer-facing sales experience in medical, diagnostic, or med device.
- 3+ years of sales leadership/management experience.
- Proven revenue generation at diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology companies.
- Experience leading sales teams promoting products to primary care providers and gastroenterologists.
- Experience in product launch.
- Excellent influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Proven ability to coach and educate others.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, reporting, and tracking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Deep market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge.
- Strong strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- High confidentiality.
- Strong administrative skills in complex environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint).
- Experience using/coaching with Salesforce.com.
- BS in life science, biology, business, or marketing.
Compensation: $175,000 - $190,000 base salary (does not include benefits, bonus, commission, or equity). Salary varies based on location and experience.
