Summary: The Regional Sales Representative (RSR) works directly with end users and a limited distributor network. The RSR actively manages their assigned territory, identifying and qualifying customer needs, optimizing existing accounts for increased product market share, profitability, and expanded relationships. Prospecting is crucial (50-60% of the role). This position focuses on the Mold Release product segment.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for total sales of assigned product segments and SKUs within a defined territory.
- Mold Release: Diamond Kote and Crystal
- Meet or exceed the sales plan for the defined territory.
- Distribution Partners: Develop and document a strategic vision to grow revenue with 80 distributor locations. Provide education, engage in sales meetings and customer visits, conduct business reviews, exhibit at tradeshows, and develop co-op marketing programs.
- End Users: Develop and document a strategy to grow with end users. Identify product conversion opportunities, coordinate product trials, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Administrative Reporting: Communicate financial results and strategic intent for the assigned territory.
- SalesForce.com (SFDC): Utilize the system for funnel/pipeline management, contract management, SPA entry, CBI opportunity documentation, and sales campaign data entry.
- Customer Back Innovation (CBI): Make calls, direct questions to customers, document opportunities, and ensure proper evaluation within the business.
- Coordinate customer needs on open orders, shipping, accounts receivable, etc. to ensure complete account management.
- Attend business meetings, trade shows, and other industry events.
- Execute ad-hoc projects, plans, campaigns, or initiatives.
- Comply with Workday activities, training, and other requirements.
- Support Operations team for proper production coverage and act as a backup for direct reports.
- Follow the 80/20 principle in prioritizing tasks and contribute to the Technical Operations Staff.
- Professionally represent the company in diverse settings, including audits and meetings.
- Travel: 50% or more
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or 3+ years of sales experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
- Experienced in sales/product training (in-person or virtual)
- Experience in sales strategy formulation and execution
- Proven experience in meeting sales goals/quotas and prospecting/closing sales
- Knowledge of marketing principles and competitive analysis
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of Industrial Coating products and technology preferred
- Experience and tenacity for long sales cycles.
